With big twinkling eyes he watched all the glitter
As he heard snuggling sounds from Frutti's newborn litter.
Amazed by all lights and decorations around
He walked through the house without making a sound.
Sparkly ornaments from floor to ceiling
The whippet sure had caught the true Christmas feeling.
Yummy food in the kitchen, candles and presents under the tree 
"I wonder if there are any for me"
With sleepy eyes he knew it was time for bed
With thoughts of Christmas presents filling his head.
But as he fell asleep he knew he had nothing to fear,
For Sawyer the whippet had been a good boy all year.

Wow, wow, wow! Zolo went all the way to BEST IN SHOW out of 3592 entered dogs at DKK Ballerup international "Copenhagen Winner Show 2017"! This was Zolo's last show before veteran class as she will be 8 years old in a couple of months and what a way to finish an amazing show career in champion class... We truly had a fantastic day in Ballerup with lovely results and company! In the breed ring three generations were on top! Zolo BOB with CACIB and Copenhagen Winner 2017! Her son Hobbe BOS with CC and CACIB making him Danish, Nordic and International Champion, and Copenhagen Winner 2017! Congrats Lotta! Hobbe's daughter Tilly had her first show as a junior and was 2:nd best bitch with CC and the title Copenhagen Junior Winner 2017! Congrats Åsa! Rocky was BOB veteran and Copenhagen Veteran Winner 2017! What a day!

Miro entered his first shows this weekend and got 2 x Junior-CC's and a BOS at a double nat. show in Latvia! He was also Kurzemes Junior Winner 2017! Congrats Liva, Guntis and Santa!

In pouring rain Zolo was once again BEST IN SHOW! This time at SSUK Höganäs national show! Her sons Oldfield was BOS with CC and Fenris 2:nd best male with R-CC and BOB junior/intermediate! Congrats Emelie, Christian, Liselotte and Marcus!

Great news from Finland! 9 months old Shahrans Fancy Pants "Kaos" went all the way to best male with CC and BOS today at Porvoo nat. show! Congrats Ari and Hansu!

Our "Fashion"-litter are 9 months old today. Together they have collected 13 x BOB puppy, 3 x BOS puppy, 4 x BIS puppy placements, 2 x BIG puppy placements, 1 x specialty BOS puppy and 1 x qualification to 'Puppy Of The Year' in Sweden. So proud of them all! A big thanks to their owners for loving them! <3

First one to enter junior class was Shahrans Fancy Pants "Kaos", who was junior class winner with CQ and 3:rd best male with R-CC today at Helsinki nat. show! Congrats Ari and Hansu!

Ch Shahrans Fizzy Bubble "Hobbe" was best male with CC and CACIB, making him Norwegian Champion, and BOS today at NKK Lillehammer int. show! Congrats Lotta! His sister Ch Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" was 2:nd best bitch with her 13:th CACIB.

Ch Kimwitu's Zolotaya "Zolo" was best bitch with CACIB and BOS at Ronneby int. KC show and Ch Shahrans Jingle Bell Rock "Rocky" was BOB veteran. The whippet Indigo Of Swala Pala "Sawyer" was 3:rd out of 12 open males, with CQ and his son Delaklin's Blazing Meadow "Blaze" was BOS puppy. Congrats Louise!

Ch Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" was best bitch with Danish club-CC, BOB and went all the way to BEST IN SHOW at Fuglebjerg nat. show! This was Frutti's second BIS at a club show this summer! Ch Shahrans Jingle Bell Rock "Rocky", who will be 10 years old in a few months, was best male with Danish veteran club-CC, BOS, new Danish Champion and finished the day as BEST IN SHOW veteran! Thank you all for a very nice day in very bad weather!

Back home from the SBS 40 year anniversary double Basenji Specialty shows in Varberg, a weekend spent with lovely people and dogs! Unfortunately the weather, with non stop extreme and ice cold wind, has been very tough to both people and dogs (and their tents!) both in and outside the ring, which also made the days feel very long. The weekend started on Friday with some activities, club meeting and barbecue by the ring but as we were soaking wet from putting our tent up in what, at the time, felt like a tornado with massive hail, wind and thunder we had to skip the barbecue and go home. After 10,5 hours (!) of showing, still in terrible weather, on Saturday it was very nice to sit down "inside" next to the ring and have a lovely dinner in good company. Thumbs up to this arrangement! We have had some lovely results during the weekend with Zolo's BIS on Sunday and our breeders group's BIS on Saturday as highlights. We had different dogs entered on different days and the results can be seen with pictures below. Thank you ALL for a lovely weekend and well organized shows! Congrats to all winners!

Shahrans Sparkling Solero "Gibson" was 2:nd best male with CC (second one in less than a week from only two entered shows as a junior!), Ch Shahrans Fizzy Bubble "Hobbe" was 3:rd best male with R-CACIB (will be confirmed as CACIB), Lord Sinclair Of Swala Pala "Stitch" was 4:th best male with R-CC and Shahrans Moonlight Shadow "Oldfield" won the intermediate class with CQ! Our breeders group was best group and Ch Kimwitu's Zolotaya "Zolo" had her first progeny group with Frutti, Hobbe, Gibson and Oldfield and they made it all the way to BEST IN SHOW 2! We have had a fantastic weekend spent with lovely people in burning heat on Saturday and ice cold winds on Sunday in Borås. A special thanks to our fantastic puppy buyers for being there with your dogs! On the KC show on Saturday brother Ch Shahrans Fizzy Bubble "Hobbe" and sister Ch Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" made it to the top being BOB and BOS! Hobbe was also shortlisted in the group. 2:nd best male went to our Lord Sinclair Of Swala Pala "Stitch" who also got the CC (second one out of 2 entered shows in 2017). Open class winner and 3:rd best male with R-CC was Fawneèla Black Jack "Fletch", a son of Pavlov and Talli. 4:th best male and BOB veteran was LCCh Shahrans Incredible Speed "Bobby". Congrats Lisa!

On Sunday at the SSUK Club show Shahrans Dressed For Success "Tilly" was BOB puppy and BEST IN SHOW 3 puppy! Congrats Åsa!

Brothers Shahrans Sparkling Solero "Gibson" and Shahrans Raspberry Ripple "Tammo" had their premiere in junior class and they made it all the way to best male with CC and 2:nd best male with R-CC! Congrats Anna, Mats, Alice and Emanuel! Gibson was also BOB junior/intermediate and BEST IN SHOW 2 junior/intermediate!

Shahrans Tally-Hoo "Talli", who hasn't been shown in years, was 3:rd best bitch with R-CC, BOB veteran and BEST IN SHOW 4 veteran! Congrats Anna!

Ch Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" was again best bitch and BOB today! Gibson was BOS. Frutti then made it all the way to BEST IN SHOW!

Our breeders group consisting of Tammo, Gibson, Frutti and Talli was BEST IN SHOW 2 breeders group! What a fantastic day! Thank you all for a lovely weekend!

We got the sad message today that Hanna is gone at 11,5 years of age after being sick for a while. Hanna is the mother of our "Heart-litter". Thank you Marcus for loving Hanna! Sleep well little girl, you will be missed!

Cooper was BOB junior and BOB again today at Luige nat. show but didn't stay for the finals today. This was Cooper's 6:th BOB out of 6 shows as a junior! Congrats to his owner Liva and handler Santa!

Sawyer wasn't entered today but his son Delaklin's Blue Ocean "Wembley" had his first show and did great! He won his class and was BOS puppy 4-6 months! Big congrats to his owners and breeder!

Indigo Of Swala Pala "Sawyer" won the big open class with CQ at the SVVK Sighthound Specialty show today at Tånga Hed! Judge was Tuula Plathon (FI) and 100 whippets in total were entered.

Sawyer also had two babies (4 months old) entered and they placed 1st and 2nd with HP out of 4 in their class. Congrats to owners and breeder Marianne!

Third one from our "Fashion litter" has had his premiere in the show rings. Shahrans Tiger Wears Prada "Tiger" was BOB puppy and selected among the five best in BIS (three placements) at an unoff. show in Skövde today. Well done Minna!

Shahrans Dressed For Success "Tilly" was the second one from our "Fashion litter" to enter the show rings, at the Triple International shows in Norrköping. Tilly turned 6 months on the first day of the shows so she was just barely allowed to enter, but she did a great job going BOB puppy with plenty of nice words from all judges, all three days and BEST IN SHOW 2 puppy on Sunday from a lineup of about 60 puppies! By this placement she also qualified herself for Puppy Of The Year 2017! Amazing! Congratulations Åsa and thank you for letting us take Tilly with us when you couldn't go!

NORD CH C.I.B NORD JW-14 KBH W-16 Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" was only entered on Sunday and Monday and was 2:nd best bitch with R-CACIB on both shows.

Thunder has gained the CC's needed for the Croatian Chamption title very quickly and can now call himself: NO CH HR CH Shahrans American Eagle! He was also BOB today! Big congrats Nikolina and Vedran!

Ch Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" was best bitch with CACIB and BOB today at Hässleholm international KC show! She was also shortlisted in the group. 15 basenjis were entered.

Shahrans Fancy Pants "Kaos" had a wonderful day today too at the puppy show in Kotka. He was BOB puppy and later also BIG-1 puppy! Congrats Ari, Hansu and Markus! What a great start in the rings for Kaos!

11 months old Shahrans Raspberry Ripple "Tammo" entered his first show today; the large puppy- and veteran show "Västkustvalpen 2017" hosted by our local kennel club. He did a wonderful job in the ring earning his BOB puppy/junior ribbon with a lovely critique. Congrats Alice and Emanuel!

Ch Shahrans American Eagle "Thunder" got his second CC and R-CACIB today at the international show in Varaždin, Croatia. Congrats Nikolina!

Ch Shahrans Jingle Bell Rock "Rocky" won his 12:th BOB veteran and 3:rd best male at Lidköping international KC show today. Ch Shahrans Tutti Frutti "Frutti" was 2:nd best bitch with R-CACIB.

William was , for the second year in a row, BOB/BEST IN SHOW at the Basenji Specialty show in St. Petersburg, Russia, making him a brand new Russian Grand Champion and Russian Club Champion! Big congrats to his owner and handler! W couldn't be more proud of our Russian prince!

This year we spent Easter at the gala show "West coast winner 2017". A very nice evening! We had Frutti, Rocky and Sawyer entered who had qualified by going BOB/BOS during 2016 and Sawyer was the one to stay in the competition for the longest amount of time. Frutti and I (Therese) also won the prize for most dazzling team! ;)

Ch Shahrans Aritza "Treo"

January 11, 2003 - April 10, 2017

Treo was born on a Saturday, 14 years and 3 months ago, in a litter of six. The sizes of the puppies varied a lot and two of the girls were so tiny, weiging only 100 and 120 grams. Treo was the smallest one. Sadly her sister passed within a couple of days and we were so worried about Treo. But Treo was strong, very active and wanted to live. When she was 8 weeks old she was still half the size of her siblings but within a few months there were no differences in size anymore. Treo lived her life here at Shahrans as the keeper from our first litter and my (Therese) first own dog. She was my first showdog and I have so many happy memories from the showrings we entered, from her first show as BOS puppy at the Swedish specialty to her last as BOS veteran 10+ at the Swedish specialty ten years later. She got many nice results inbetween such as BIS placements as a puppy, adult and veteran and was the first dog I showed to the Champion title. Treo became mother of two litters and in both litters she has both show- and Lure Coursing Champion offspring.

Treo's passions in life were eating and sleeping, either in my lap or wrapped in cozy blankets on the bed. Even though she loved her family, she and I always had a special connection. Sadly, being the very jealous girl she always was, she decided to hate Zolo which made it impossible for her to permanently live with me. I am very glad I got to have her with me when Zolo was away at maternity leave though and I could see she really enjoyed that too.

Treo was always a very healthy dog who never had a sick day until six months ago when her age started to take its toll. A surgery to remove a mammary tumor gave her new life though; she became very active and playful and started to yodel loudly (she had never yodelled before!) and this is how she stayed until a week ago when the cancer showed itself again, she became ill quickly and there was noting more to be done. Treo will live on through her kids Triss and Rocky, grandsons Muzzlan and Pluto and granddaughter Piff, here at Shahrans. And off course also through her offspring in other kennels in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, England, Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands and Germany.

Sleep well our darling girl, we still can't believe that you are gone... You will always be in our hearts and we'll smile at the lovely memories we have together! <3

Shahrans Strawberry White "Cooper" had his first show as a junior yesterday and what a fantastic start he had, only 9 months old!! BOB junior with jun-CC, Best Male, BOB, BEST IN SHOW 3 junior and BIG-2 at Siauliai nat. show in Lithuania! BIG congrats to his owners and handler!

At the same time Shahrans Passion For Fashion "Miro" flew to Latvia and his new home with Guntis, Liva and Cooper. We wish him good luck in his new home!

At the second day in Siauliai Cooper had an even more fantastic day! He was again BOB junior with jun-CC, BOB and went all the way to BIG-1 and BEST IN SHOW 4! Amazing!

NO CH Shahrans American Eagle "Thunder" had his first show in his new country, Croatia, today and got a CC and a CACIB (R-CACIB but will be confirmed as CACIB) to take home! Congrats Nikolina!

Shahrans Miss Universe "Ziba" was entered for the first time in junior class today at Celje (Slovenia) international show and she couldn't have had a better start! She BOB junior with JunCC and BOB! Big congrats to her owner/handler Urska!

Shahrans Strawberry White "Cooper" was BOB puppy x 2 this weekend and also BEST IN SHOW 3 puppy today at Valmieras nat. show! Big congrats to his owners Liva and Guntis and handler Santa!

Sawyer the whippet became father of 5 little puppies today at kennel Yermoloff, 2 males and 3 females! Congrats to proud breeders Dan and Anneli!

Pavlov's daughter Arctic Queen "Piffi" was BOB with CC today at Etne nat. show (Norway)! Congrats to breeder and owner Sølvi!

Sawyer the whippet has become father of 8 little puppies today at kennel Delaklin's! 4 boys and 4 girls. Big congratulations to proud breeder Marianne!

We got the sad news today that Shahrans Think Of Me "Melissa" passed away due to blood poisoning after surgery (getting spayed), only 7 years old... Way too soon and so unfair! Big hugs to her owners Gun and Kjell and to the friend Nea as well. Sleep well little Melissa... <3

Sweden's largest dog event; MyDog is over for this year and it's been 4 great days as always! One of our favourite shows of the year, nice big rings and well organized! We have met friends, puppy buyers and a lot of people interested in the breeds! It helps that it's only 10 minutes away from home too ;) Thank you all for a lovely weekend!

Sawyer the whippet was entered on Thursday and Friday. He placed nicely by going 2:nd in a large open class with CQ (champion quality) both days.

On Saturday and Sunday it was the basenjis' turn to be shown. Zolo was best bitch both days with CACIB, BOB on Saturday and BOS on Sunday with Crufts qualification! She loved being in the ring again and will be back later this year in veteran class! Her son Gibson, 7 months old, was BOB puppy both days! Stitch was only entered on Sunday and was BOB junior, 2:nd best male with CC and qualified for Crufts!
